The Lord our God is One

Though now widely accepted by many scholars to not being authored by Athanasius of Alexandria at all, nor even originally a creed, I quote one portion of the attributed Athanasian Creed: “The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible, and the Holy Ghost incomprehensible…As also there are not three incomprehensibles…but one incomprehensible.”
Incomprehensible, of course, means NOT comprehensible or intelligible; UNABLE TO BE UNDERSTOOD.
Scholarship places the probable date of writing in the 5th century A.D., long after the New Testament canon was settled.
Yet we learn in John 17:3 that, “This is life eternal, that they might know thee, the ONLY TRUE GOD (emphasis mine), and (Greek conjunction ‘kai’, which also means and could have been translated ‘even’) Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.” Jesus Christ was sent into the world the same way John the Baptist was sent into the world (John 1:6), which does NOT lessen the Deity that was in him that existed before the foundation of the world, before time began, in the mind and plan of God (“the glory which I had with thee before the world was” – John 17:5), as the Word (John 1:1).
We do not have to ‘gargle in Greek’ to understand who Jesus Christ really is.
